How to play
- Players take turns placing a stone on any intersection. Black goes first.
- Win by five in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal), or by capturing five pairs of the opponent's stones.
- Capturing: if you flank exactly two of your opponent's stones in a line with your own stones on both ends (you, them, them, you), you remove those two stones. Placing your own pair between two enemy stones is safe.
- Tournament rule (on by default, to balance the first move): Black's first stone goes in the centre, and Black's second stone must be at least three points away from the centre.
- Tip: an open row of three is a threat, because it can become an open four that can't be stopped. Watch your pairs too: a pair with an enemy stone at one end can be captured.
