How to play
- Red connects the top and bottom edges. Blue connects the left and right edges. Red moves first, and you take turns placing one stone on any empty hexagon.
- Stones touch the six hexagons around them. The first player to link their two edges with an unbroken chain wins. There are no draws in Hex.
- Swap rule: because moving first is a big advantage, after Red's first stone the second player may swap sides: they take over Red's stone and Red's colour, and the first player becomes Blue and moves next. So the opening has to be fair.
- Tip: a stone in the centre is strong, and stones two apart in a "bridge" shape are hard for the opponent to cut.
